Hi all. Hope this finds you thriving, well, staying sane, doing what you can to steady the world and make it kinder.
I’ve been off doing what I said I was going to do back in December: launch not one new longer project, not two, not three, but…well. Maybe before too long I will wake this sight all the way up and tell you about it. The process. It has been brand new to me. Wilder than I was expecting. Also more promising than I could have hoped. If reading about some of that would be of interest, let me know.
But for today, I just wanted to surface and alert you all to the following.
One month from today, at the fabulous Village Books in beautiful Bellingham, WA, I will be debuting a new reading series I am curating called DARK NORTH, devoted to live evenings of readings and conversation (and, periodically, surprises) with as many leading lights of the speculative fiction field as I can lure.
As you’ll see, I could not have asked for two more ideal and talented partners to help me inaugurate this thing:
Peter's work you hopefully know (and if not...COME ON). I first got to know of S.L. Coney when Ellen Datlow asked if I could read "Wild Spaces" and consider blurbing. It frankly blew me away. This is what I said then:
'Wild Spaces' is a glass-bottomed boat ride across waters and into caves teeming with monsters we shouldn't want to see, and do... at least until we see them, and realize we already know them, and recognize them for what they are. What a thrilling discovery."
This is what I say now:
Come see for yourself one month from today. Click here to reserve your spot.
Okay, back to projecting I go. Be well. And come see the show. And tell friends. And if you’re coming, let me know.
Thanks, always, for your interest, which I will never take for granted.
OK that link worked. Trying to find this via the website's event page is not something I've managed yet, fyi.
